Full Course, Full Support: VMA Golf Classic Drives Advocacy Forward
The Virginia Maritime Association Golf Classic returned on April 16 with a full course, clear skies, and strong support from across the maritime community. The sold-out event brought members and partners together for a day that balanced networking, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to advancing the industry.
Beyond the great turnout and ideal weather, the purpose of the day remained front and center. The tournament directly supports the Virginia Maritime Association Political Action Committee (VMA PAC), which was established in 2000 to advocate on behalf of the maritimeindustry with the Virginia General Assembly. Each year, the industry faces a range of policy and funding issues that require a consistent and well-supported presence in Richmond. Events like the Golf Classic play a key role in making that work possible.
Participation in the tournament is more than just a day on the course. It is an investment in ensuring the maritime industry continues to have a strong, unified voice with legislators. That collective engagement strengthens how the industry is represented at the local, state, and federal levels, reinforcing one of the core values of the Association: members are Better Connected, Better Informed, and Better Represented.
The success of this year’s event was made possible by the generous support of sponsors across the industry.
Platinum Sponsors:
Bay Power Solutions, Hampton Roads Shipping Association and McAllister Towing.
Gold Sponsors:
Century Express Virginia, CMP Global, CP&O, CV International, Forvis Mazars, Givens Logistics, HOST, and TowneBank/Towne Insurance

Bronze Sponsors:

Their continued support reflects a shared understanding of how important advocacy is to the long-term strength of Virginia’s maritime sector.
The 2026 Golf Classic was a strong reminder that when the industry comes together, it not only builds relationships but also ensures the maritime community is effectively represented in the decisions that shape its future.
