Overview

VMA's Maritime Leadership Certification Program (MLCP) provides professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the maritime industry, a network of key industry stakeholders, and critical leadership skills.

The program is designed to be completed in one year with classes of 25 participants and welcomes all VMA members to apply.

MLCP leaders will participate monthly in special programs, tours, and socials, providing them with exposure to all facets of the maritime industry and the opportunity to build a professional network.

They will acquire additional access to expert industry leaders and opportunities to gain critical leadership skills.

How does MLCP compare to the Future Leaders?

The Maritime Leadership Certificate Program was designed while keeping the Future Leaders program in mind, providing both groups with exposure to various segments of the maritime supply chain industries. However, the Future Leaders program focuses on providing a basic level of industry exposure to those under 40, whereas the MLCP is without any age restrictions, drawing in members seeking a more comprehensive understanding of the industry and skills required for leadership.
