Global supply chains continue to evolve rapidly as manufacturers and retailers navigate shifting freight markets, emerging technologies and ongoing disruptions across transportation networks. AHFA's 2026 Global Logistics & Supply Chain Conference brings together leaders from across the home furnishings industry to examine these challenges and share strategies for building stronger, more resilient supply chains.
Chris Spear, CEO and president of the American Trucking Associations (ATA), is the keynote presenter. A government relations specialist with more than two decades of experience across the transportation, energy and defense technology sectors, Spear has led ATA since 2016. ATA represents a federation of 50 state associations with more than 33,000 members across the trucking industry, representing over 8.5 million employees who move 71 percent of all domestic freight.
Spear's presentation anchors a two-day agenda that will include:
- Industry case studies highlighting how leading organizations are navigating disruptions, strengthening supply chain resilience and improving operational efficiency
- Future-focused discussions examining the impact of artificial intelligence, automation and emerging technologies on modern supply chain management
- Interactive panels and discussions designed to address real-world logistics challenges and share practical strategies for today's supply chain environment
Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour The Port of Virginia, the conference's platinum sponsor, and hear from a Virginia Port Authority official. The port recently placed four new all-electric, Suez-class ship-to-shore container cranes into service at Norfolk International Terminals, expanding its ability to accommodate four ultra-large container vessels simultaneously. It is now capable of handling the largest container vessels serving the Atlantic Ocean trade.
Networking opportunities extend beyond the conference sessions. An optional pre-conference golf outing will take place at Greenbrier Country Club on Monday, June 15, beginning at 9:00 a.m. ET, followed by an evening reception to open the conference. The two-day program will conclude with a reception and dinner at Chick's Oyster Bar, a Virginia Beach favorite situated on Long Creek and accessible by both land and water. The waterfront setting offers live music, scenic views and a relaxed atmosphere for connecting with colleagues across the industry.
The Delta Hotels Virginia Beach Waterfront Suites, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, will host the conference. The property features waterfront views, a restaurant serving Virginia Beach culinary favorites, an outdoor pool and private beach access for attendees traveling with family.
